Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Fact Sheet
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Fact Sheet will give you an overview of the CCSS, which replaces the California State Standards under the No Child Left Behind Act. Forty-five states, including California, have adopted the CCSS. Language arts and math CCSS were introduced in CUSD schools during the 2012-13 school year and the CCSS will be fully implemented during the 2014-15 school year. CUSD teachers and administrators have been attending various educational workshops on the CCSS during the past few years and will continue with their training on CUSD student furlough days on October 4, January 6, and April 21.

The San Juan Capistrano Education Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit public benefit corporation that was established in May 2009 to raise funds to enrich and improve the quality of the educational environment for the students of Ambuehl Elementary school in San Juan Capistrano. It is designed to provide funds to support and enhance the curriculum and scholastic needs of the students of Ambuehl and to strengthen the relationship between the public schools and the community, as well as to support a level of excellence and innovation in our children’s educational experience.
